Sometimes its messy before its Good

I haven’t written a blog for a few weeks as I have been super busy preparing my new home that my wife and I will be living in very soon. While cleaning the new space I had an insight that came through that I have been reflecting on.

As you go throughout your day knowing that there is always areas of growth in each area of your life, set an intention for the life you wish to live. Create a vision for yourself that you would like to be living in.

If you have already created a vision then this next part you can probably relate to.  As you go throughout your days with your vision in the front of your mind, or sometimes back of your mind, be aware that often times things can seem to get a bit messy on the journey to the vision before there is a clearing and you step into your ideal circumstance.

This weekend as I was cleaning a room in my house there was a moment where I stepped back and realized after cleaning for 3 hours that the place looked more disorganized than when I first started. I didn’t let that stop me because I knew exactly what I needed to do in order to have everything in its right place and looking clean and great. Though if someone else would have walked in they would never believed I had been cleaning for so long.
It wasn’t much longer that I had the place looking amazing and feeling like home.

What came to my awareness was that often times when we are moving in the direction of our vision for our life, many times our friends and family can’t understand why we do the things we do because from their perspective it might look like a mess or just not right. But to you, you know exactly where you’re going. You might not know how or exactly when, but that’s not yours to know. Don’t let the energy from others deflect you away from where you are taking your life to. Keep on the path towards your dreams. Vision

The Meaning of Your Words

It recently hit me while I was driving down the road listening to a meditation cd when the guy on the cd said “now all negative entities are removed from your body, all demons, spells, and negative karma are removed from your body.”

I thought to myself, “Demons?” wow!  I then realized that for me that word didn’t relate at all, but for some it may have a personal meaning.  The word demon really itself means nothing until I give it meaning.  One person may think of a demon as an evil spirit out to get them and another person may think a demon is a fear tactic to scare people.  When I heard this on the cd it immediately brought something up in me that said, “Some nerve that guy has to think all his listeners have demons.” Then I stopped and realized that the word and sentence the man said had no meaning at all until I gave it meaning and then judged him for what he said.

The point is that in our life we often use or hear words that have emotional attachment to it and to become aware of that connection is key.  When someone mentions the name God there is a whole list of things that could come up based on your past experience and the meaning you have given that. If someone says the word Love, again it could mean something like, “I love this piece of strawberry creame cheese.” Or it could have another meaning towards an intimate relationship.

The reason I find this worth writing is because we can all become aware when someone says a word that hits a hot button in you and makes you feel uncomfortable, you can stop and become aware of what you have made that word out to be.
When I first heard the mantra Ohm (a mantra that yogi’s created from the East) I immediately had thoughts of evil, cult, and weird.  That was strongly related to my past. Now I have learned that the mantra Ohm is a sound that ignites the presence of God/Love into your awareness after repeating it over and over. At first I had attached a negative meaning to a word that was created to have a positive meaning.

What words are you currently making out to be bad, wrong, negative, weird?  Start to stop yourself when you hear a word that feels awkward and ask yourself, “what meaning have I given this word?”  This will raise your spiritual awareness and deepen your connection with Source.
